Safe Paws Doggy Day Care was launched by Shirley Macmillan (below) on April 6th, 2011.

Safe Paws was founded  by Shirley Macmillan (above)  as a happier alternative to Kennels or Catteries with the sole purpose of making animals happy. Having spent 13 years working for Central Scotland Police she wanted to change direction and  live her dream.

So in 2003 Shirley launched Safe Paws, a highly professional and unique pet caring company offering the same high standards of pet care she would expect for her own animals...but at an affordable price.

Shirley has spent the last few years developing the company and she now employs 50 members of specialist staff who are insured, fully vetted & confirmed animal lovers. Each Safe Paws carer has been hand picked for their experience of animal care, their reliability and ethics, but most importantly their passion for all things furry!

Then came Safe Paws Doggy Day Care Centre & Canine Training School...

After 3 very long and stressful years Shirley has finally managed to open up the Safe Paws Doggy Day Care Centre on April 6th, 2011 in Stirling. She trained over in the United Sates and brought the Americanised "Doggy Day Care Centre" concept over to the UK. Over the next few years she will be franchising her doggy day care centre and canine training schools throughout the UK, bringing the highest standard of dog day care and training to dogs and owners across the country... Because Dogs Deserve Day Care!

Shirley is the only trade representative on the council working group for dog day care and dog home boarding council standards. Within this group there is the legislator for the Scottish government, head of the vet school in Glasgow, Chief Supt on the SSPCA and most of the Environmental Health Officers in Scotland. Together working for GOLD STANDARDS IN DOG DAY CARE; because DOGS DESERVE BETTER! :-)
